Choice Mom
by Reema Kiran
Love can wait.
What if motherhood didn't have to depend on finding the right partner?
In Choice Mom, Reema Kiran—certified coach and single mother by choice—shares her deeply personal and transformational journey to solo motherhood. From heartbreak and cultural expectations to fertility treatments and solo parenting, this book blends memoir and mindset, guiding women through one of the most vulnerable decisions they may ever face.
With raw honesty and heartfelt wisdom, Reema opens up about navigating IVF alone, grieving the fairytale, and making peace with a new vision of family. Through reflective coaching questions, practical insights, and stories you won’t find on glossy Instagram posts, Choice Mom is the book every woman needs when she’s wondering, Can I really do this alone? Will I regret not waiting? Will I be enough?
Whether you’re in your thirties or forties, still deciding, or deep in the trying-to-conceive process, this book will remind you that you’re not alone—and that you are more than capable of choosing yourself, your path, and your version of motherhood.
Because sometimes the most radical thing a woman can do . . . is stop waiting.

“This book will be so helpful for those considering solo parenthood. It’s a great mix of personal stories that will really resonate, reflection exercises, and quick tips. I highly recommend.”
—Mel Johnson, solo parenthood coach
“In our clinical practice, we support women who are considering single motherhood by choice. The medical aspects are only one part of the journey; the emotional readiness, logistical planning, and long-term vision require just as much consideration. Choice Mom provides a thoughtful, structured framework that helps women navigate these considerations with intention. Reema’s lived experience adds authenticity and relatability, while the practical guidance helps patients move from uncertainty to clarity. We appreciate resources that empower women with insight and perspective, and Choice Mom is one we feel can meaningfully support patients during this important decision-making process.” —Dr. Meivys Garcia and Dr. Marta Wais, reproductive endocrinologists and infertility specialists at Markham Fertility Centre and hosts of My Fertility Podcast
“I’m sometimes asked if I’ll ever write a book about single motherhood by choice. The task has never quite called to me, and after picking up Choice Mom, I thought, Phew . . . now I don’t have to! Reema Kiran has created exactly the kind of resource I wish every woman on this path had in her hands: thoughtful, honest, emotionally attuned, and deeply practical. This book meets women where they are—in the uncertainty, the grief, the courage, and the resolve—and walks beside them without rushing or oversimplifying what is a profoundly personal decision. Reema writes with clarity, heart, and integrity, and I will be enthusiastically recommending Choice Mom to my clients. I’m so grateful she created this book. The world truly needs it.” —Katie Bryan, SMBC coach and host of The Single Greatest Choice podcast

Author

Reema Kiran
In an age where women no longer have to settle, Reema Kiran is an embodied voice in support of the growing number of career women choosing single motherhood. With her own experience through unexplained fertility and conceiving her daughter as a single mother by choice, the Choice Mom Coaching founder merged her established career as an executive coach with a management consulting company and coaching as a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation, to intentionally empower those no longer compromising on their motherhood dreams.
Knowing that many women forgo this path due to societal and familial expectations, especially as an Indian-Canadian woman, Reema harnesses her deep empathy and familiarity with diverse cultural sensitivities when working with women on this journey. It is her belief that with aligned support and an unwavering commitment to one’s own personal growth, women can find the strength, resilience, and courage they need to pursue their innate purpose of becoming the mothers they’ve always wanted to be. Because no woman needs to go through this process alone.
