Welp, this is truly the grossest picture book ever...and I mean that in the best, most flattering way possible. The Grossest Picture Book Ever certainly lives up to its title, thanks to Derek Taylor Kent's wildly amusing way with all things icky, yucky, and just plain gross. Little readers will bust a gut as they gobble up every laugh-out-loud rhyme and fun word choice. Lynx Studios brings this wonderfully gross world to life through engaging, humorous illustrations full of fun, silly details. For kids who love their funnies... Follow two multi-cultural friends through the city of Gross. They meet their neighbors who are slipping and sliding through poop, snot, and cockroaches. Although the descriptions of the city of Gross are very gross indeed, the reader will be laughing to the end. Students will be begging their teachers to read it again and again. The illustrations are colorful and presented on glossy pages. Children who are not yet reading will love the sounds of words such as squish and splish and of the citizens slurping the barf and mucus at the local cafe, McButt's. It is very true that the plot is filled with goo, snot, and poo and the characters celebrate their gross habits in the weirdest of ways but this is well worth the read for anyone who has a silly side. The illustrations by Lynx Studios are bright, colorful and funny as they show exactly what the rhyming words describe in brilliant images. I recommend this book to anyone with a strong stomach and a sense of humor. Although Kent intended The Grossest Picture Book Ever for kids ages 4 and up, adults will have a great laugh too as they get a good look at what the people in the town of Gross do. I honestly couldn t stop laughing and had to go back and read every page again to make sure my mind comprehended what my eyes were reading! Kent s humor is not just in the words but the way he delivers each line. --Reader's Favorite
