Tarrus Richardson

TARRUS RICHARDSON is an entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist with a track record of building high-performing businesses. Beginning his career in finance on Wall Street, he rose through the industry while navigating the cultural barriers he faced as a person of color, alongside the demands of a highly competitive field. He went on to cofound an investment bank in Ghana and lead two private equity firms focused on investing in underserved markets and communities. In addition, he founded the Council of Urban Professionals, an 18,000-person national network. After a major professional setback that forced him to start over, Richardson rebuilt his career and ultimately established a firm generating over $1 billion in annual revenue. His experience spans mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and organizational leadership. He is known for applying a disciplined, structured approach to achievement and for expanding opportunity through business and mentorship.
